Goldfoots from Manchester to Philadelphia 1895

I found Mrs. Sarah Goldfoot born 1854 age 41, a domestic, traveling with Rachel b: 1876 age 19, also a domestic, and Abraham age 26, born 1869, laborer. They were Russians but had lived in Manchester for the past four years. They were on the ship, "Kensington" from Liverpool, England and arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA on January 3, 1895. They were met by their friend H. Shneider. (Goldfoot was typed/translated as Goldfaot) This was on ancestry.com Philadelphia Passenger List.

All records are in the original form in cursive writing with an ink pen. The letters can run a little and it's hard for translators.

David Goldfoot in Canada 1906

David Goldfoot (or Goldfart, as it was typed) age 34, born in 1872, a year after my grandfather, and a Russian Jew, arrived on May 22, 1906 in Montreal Quebec after leaving Antwerp, Belgium on the ship "Mount Temple".

Wouldn't it be something if this was the brother that Nathan Goldfoot might have traveled with?
What a coincidence that would be since Nathan's grandson is also David Goldfoot.

Simon and Sebnia Goldfoot from Austria

Simon Goldfoot (Goldfort on the listing that was typed) , b 1866, age 35, and wife Sebnia b: 1871, age 30, left Liverpool, England and sailed on the ship "Lake Champlain" and arrived in Quebec Montreal on June 2, 1901. They were born in Austria. This information was found on the Canadian Passenger Lists in www.ancestry.com

Nathan Goldfoot 1893 Heading for Winnipeg

This is the latest report I have on my grandfather, Nathan Goldfoot. He had been found at the port in Londonderry, Ireland heading for Quebec at age 22 by Mike Posnick who informed me. Here he has been found on the same ship, Parisian, now heading for Quebec on June 14, 1893, but departing at Winnipeg. That is closer to Council, Idaho, USA where he was found marrying Hattie Jermulowske, my grandmother in 1905. The next year they went to Portland, Oregon. I have written to the Winnipeg Jewish Genealogical Society asking for possible information. Perhaps they have books that are not posted on ancestry. Nathan has not been found crossing over from Canada to USA as yet. I'm wondering what he did from 1893 in Winnipeg till 1905, some 12 years unaccounted for. My grandmother had mentioned that he had been married before but hadn't had any children. That seems to be the reason for his divorce. That must have taken place in Canada.

Judith Goldfoot 1927 Wales

I've never explored Wales before, except Wales has been coming up along with English searches.
Now I've found a Judith Goldfoot who was born March 1927 in district: Cardiff, county: Glamorgan, Monmouthshire, Wales. Her mother's maiden name was Hermer. At first she was listed as Julius Goldfoot, and then in cursive writing underneath Judith was written in the bottom margin. I've been finding Goldfoot in Wales, so presume this is one of the children.

Goldfoot Photographer in Japan

My brother David just ran across a posting of beautiful photgraphs of Japan posted by Goldfoot. It's seen at http://goldfoot.exblog.jp/. I even downloaded the Japanese characters in hopes of sending a comment to him asking who he is but checked on doing this first with nephew Josh who is a computer expert's expert. He said it was safe, so I did. I was confronted with clicking on the comments and opening a box in which I typed a message. Then, I had to guess at the send button as it was all in Japanese! I did so and have no idea if that was "send". What if he doesn't read English? This is a real mystery.

4/15/09 I just found out that Denise B., nee Goldfoot has a daughter living in Japan with husband and children. There are several Jewish families living there who are business people. They just had a seder together. I wouldn't be surprised if that is who posted the pictures.

Goldfoot Surgeon in Cheltenham, Wales

I ran across a Bruce Goldfoot, but don't know who he is. He was found in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Wales. He was in the 1970 phone book in Wales, Bruce, Gompertz &I Moor, 1; Gloucester Apr 1970 at 139 St Georges Rd, 23764 Cheltenham.

Also, Goldfoot &I Willlamson (surgery 139 St. Georges Rd, Cheltenham 53257 and Cheltenham 53259. )

In the 1944 phone book this was listed.
Dr. D.A. Goldfoot, Libertus rd, Cheltenham 3764.
Goldfoot & Crabree, Drs, 4 Gloucester rd-Cheltenham 3764.

To confuse matters, I've also found Rachel Clare Goldfoot b: 4 February 1906 and d: October 1986 at age 80 years in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Wales. She must be connected to this doctor. I can't place her on our mutual trees. In the phone book of 1968 I found Mrs. R.C. Goldfoot at 67 Hatherley Rd, Cheltenham 52890. It was under Bruce Goldfoot's listing, so she must be his wife.

In the 1927 phone book, I also found Dr. A. Goldfoot, surgeon and physician at Victoiia Ho, Gloucester Rd, Cheltenham 3764.

My "cousin" Denise in South Africa does not know anything about him. I hope someone can let me know how he's connected to our trees.

Miss H. Goldfuss 1909 from Kowno to Africa

I found Miss H. Goldfuss in the Poor Jews' Temporary Shelter in England at age 18 who was born in Kowno. She was a dressmaker and was traveling from Bremen to Africa; I presume that would be South Africa where other Goldfoot people were living. She was registered there on December 27, 1909. What a cold time to be alone and poor. I hope she made it to her destination.
